REKNOWNED SPORTS JOURNALIST,DEACON AYO OSITELU IS DEAD!

Well- known Nigerian Sports Journalist, Deacon Ayo Ositelu has been confirmed dead.

Deacon Ositelu passed away in his home on Wednesday night while watching television with his wife, after complaining of feeling uneasy.

Close friend of the deceased, Kayode Tijani confirmed the news to the media on Thursday, saying it was indeed very sad and a great loss.

Fondly known as ‘Arena’, Ositelu was the compere for the exhibition match between Tennis giants, Serena and Venus Williams in Lagos on November 2, 2012.

The respected Journalist who began his career in the 1980s was a Sports editor with the Punch; served in various capacities with Sports Associations; won awards for his outstanding work and till his death was a consultant of the Editorial Board of The Guardian Newspaper.

Ositelu also served as Chairman of the Ejigbo Local Council in Lagos State.
