NEW SONG, REVIEW : "Ezege" by Phyno

The one and only "Eze Nnunu" Phyno, has today released his much anticipated 1st single of the year, titled "Ezege".

The jam was produced by ace music producer, Del B.

This will probably be the first time the Penthauze's finest, would be working on a song with Del B.

I think it's a good idea to for him to have taken a slight break from working with Major Bangz (who's his in-house Producer). Even his last (monster) single, "Connect", was produced by T-spize. It's good to be diverse.

Now, to the chopping board. Hmmm. "Ezege"! Am still trying to figure out what that means -- literally. However, the subtext of the title seem to imply that Ezege means "wickedest".

While listening to this track, I observed that the beats were semi-percussive. The drum beats used were majorly the Bass and Snare drums. I could also hear strums of the Bass guitar and a slight vamping of the piano. All of which combined to give the song a small electro beat feel and more of the azonto flavor -- the mid-tempo progressive beat.

Phyno's lyrics were cool and bounced off the beat nicely.

Of course the language barrier is there for some...; but who cares? It's a feel good song. And that's what matters.

The lyrics roughly tell the tale of a guy trying to woo a chic (who's been fronting her assets).

It's going to take a few hits on the replay button, for some hard core Phyno fans to fully grasp this kind of sound he is experimenting with, tho.

In all, Ezege is that jam you want to be nodding and humming to, behind your steering wheel. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Great song! Nice one Phyno Eze Nnunu!
